Making a positive impact on the challenges facing our environment and communities.

About us

At BMCG, we work with our clients to unpack complex challenges, make informed decisions, and create better outcomes.

We work across sectors but primarily focus on water and natural resources management, climate adaptation, and regional development. These focus areas support our commitment to sustainability and our mission to address key environmental and social issues.

We specialise in understanding, creating, and enabling connections between strategies and outcomes. This means we don’t just provide recommendations – we support our clients in implementing strategies to achieve real, tangible results.

Our values

  • Kindness

We foster a culture of kindness, where every interaction reflects warmth, compassion, and genuine care for the well-being and safety of others.

  • Inclusivity

Embracing diversity, we create an inclusive environment that values and respects the unique perspectives, backgrounds, and contributions of every individual. Through embracing our differences and strengths, we will do better and be better together.

  • Purpose

We are driven by a clear sense of purpose that guides our actions and decisions. Our commitment to a meaningful existence shapes our work, inspires innovation, and fuels our dedication to creating positive change in the world.

  • Courage

Driving lasting change for a better future will require us to consider the preposterous and challenge existing norms, values, and approaches. To do this we challenge the status quo, explore innovative solutions, and navigate uncertainties with resilience, integrity, and determination.

Our project experience

  • Greater Adelaide Integrated Water Management Governance

A growing population and climate change is placing pressure on Greater Adelaide future water security. Increasingly the region will need to use all sources of water in an integrated manner. However, the current water governance arrangements are limiting the ability to do this. BMCG is working with Watertrust Australia Ltd to facilitate a comprehensive process with stakeholders to address this challenge.

  • Northern Water Project

Northern Water is an initiative of the South Australian Government aimed at providing a new, climate-independent water source for the Far North, Upper Spencer Gulf and Eastern Eyre Peninsula regions of South Australia. BMCG team members have been involved in a range of planning phase technical, engineering and business case packages and are now working with ISA, partners and stakeholders to provide advisory and project services to support Northern Water’s industry and economic participation strategy.

  • Returning water under the Basin Plan

The South Australian government is committed to the full implementation of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan and working with communities in its implementation. BMCG was engaged by the South Australian Department for Environment and Water to facilitate workshops with regional stakeholders to better understand how best to design future water recovery programs, so they deliver the proposed reforms, and support communities and industries to adjust and prosper.

  • Sustainable Diversion Limit Adjustment Mechanism (SDLAM)

SDLAM is a key program under the Basin Plan designed, through a range of infrastructure, policy and operational measures, to achieve similar or improved environmental outcomes using less water. BMCG team members have been involved in the program since 2020 as part of the 3Rivers Joint Venture (Jacobs and GHD), partnered with the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. BMCG is currently working with 3Rivers, the NSW Government and stakeholders to support the progression of a number of packages under the program.
